Lewis McGuffie, working under the auspices of the secretive organisation Gnom Radio, will be recording hi-frequency radio static during sunspot/solar flare storms throughout May. These recordings will then be compiled into an hour long record and will document the various effects of the storms on Earth's atmosphere. The Gnom Radio Study will use the recording as the basis for an exploration of mythical and invisible natural phenomena, and try to decipher what Rainer Rilke called the 'crackle of the universe', and 'the angels dancing in the static', in an effort to explore the power relationship between mankind and the natural world that remains largely invisible without the use of technology.
